China’s water jumpers have impressively confirmed their dominance and won all 13 titles at the World Championships in Budapest. Yang Jian finally secured gold in the tower final on Sunday in the Duna Arena with 515.55 points. Silver went to the 15-year-old Japanese Rikuto Tamai ahead of the second Chinese Yang Hao. China’s team had already triumphed in all disciplines – ten at the time – at the 2011 World Championships in Shanghai.
Timo Barthel, who won bronze at the start of the World Championships with dubbing partner Lars Rüdiger from the 3m board and thus the only German medal in diving, failed in the semi-finals as 14th.
For the World Cup newcomer Jaden Eikermann it was the end of the line in the preliminary fight.
