Werder Bremen is chasing the German Premier League star

Shortly before the start of the rest of the second half of the season at Werder Bremen, at least officially, all eyes are on the upcoming opponent Fortuna Düsseldorf. Behind the scenes, however, those responsible for the second division are working on one or the other transfer to give the squad an additional quality boost for the promotion battle. A well-known candidate could come from England.

So far, the record of SVW coach Ole Werner reads perfectly: all three games under Markus Beginn’s successor have been won, and that with a strong goal difference of 11:3. The fact that Werder only starts as a pursuer in the remaining 16 matches is due to the fluctuations in the entire Hinserie.

The Bremen team repeatedly revealed problems, especially in midfield, and the relegated team has so far lacked a real leader in the center.

According to information from the “Deichstube”, managers Frank Baumann and Co. have recognized this construction site and have even chosen a preferred candidate: Pascal Groß from the Premier League representative Brighton & Hove Albion.

Werder Bremen: Major consultants visit the Weser Stadium

The 30-year-old, who knows the Bundesliga very well from his time at FC Ingolstadt, has lost his regular place with the Seagulls and has also been flirting with a return to Germany for some time.

Since the Mannheim native’s working paper expires in the summer, Brighton’s transfer demands should be limited. Gross’s salary could be more problematic, and he is said to be making around three million euros a year at the moment.

A very exciting side note: on Tuesday, the advisors of the midfield driver were in the Weser Stadium and are said to have held talks there. However, it cannot be ruled out that it was mainly about Bremen’s full-back Felix Agu, who is also looked after by agents Tolga Dirican and Thorben Spranger.
