Water polo player with a conciliatory World Cup conclusion

With their second win in a row, the German water polo players finished the swimming world championships in Hungary in 13th place.

In the end, the team of the new national coach Petar Porobic defeated Kazakhstan 16:7 (4:2, 4:2, 3:1, 5:2) and thus remained one place above the worst result in the history of the World Cup in the overall ranking.

In 2001 in Fukuoka, the selection of the German Swimming Federation (DSV) took 14th place. In 2015 and 2017, however, she missed out on participating in the World Cup. Lukas Küppers (4), Fynn Schütze (3), Zoran Bozic (3), Ferdinand Korbel (2), Phillip Kubisch (2), Denis Strelezkij and Jan Rotermund scored the goals for the DSV team.

The heavily rejuvenated German team had missed the knockout games with three defeats in the preliminary round in Debrecen. At the start of the placement round in Szeged, she defeated Brazil 10-9.
