The supporters of the German national soccer team can now stock up on tickets for the World Cup in Qatar.
As announced by the world association FIFA, official ticket sales for the tournament scheduled from November 21 to December 18, 2022 started on Wednesday at 11 a.m. In this first sales phase, team tickets, individual tickets, barrier-free tickets and a package with tickets to four games in four different stadiums can be purchased.
These offers show “that we want to bring football to as many fans as possible from all over the world,” said FIFA Secretary General Fatma Samoura: “At this football festival in state-of-the-art stadiums, fans can discover the diverse culture and history of the region. We’re looking forward to it , to bring people from different cultures together in this football spectacle.” Each supporter needs a Hay’ya Card to enter Qatar, the Corona regulations will be announced at a later date.
According to FIFA, an early order in the first sales phase does not increase the chance of tickets. All applicants come into one pot regardless of when they order, the tickets will only be allocated after February 8th. If demand exceeds supply, a draw is held. After all finalists have been determined, a second sales phase is planned for March. The remaining tickets will be allocated after the draw on April 1st.
Due to the short distances in the Gulf State, fans can order tickets for several games a day, but attending two consecutive games is not possible. In total, each household can order up to six tickets per match and up to 60 tickets for the entire tournament. As at the last three World Cups, there is a discounted ticket category (around ten euros) for people from the host country.
