The New Orleans Pelicans look at CJ McCollum

Although at the moment the dominant note in Portland, and in the league in general, is stillness; the possible breakup of the Blazers is an open secret. The plans with the current squad have ended up expiring after a prolonged stagnation. Right now, only Damian Lillard, sidelined by his abdominal injury, seems untouchable ahead of market close. And Anfrnee Simons’ determined step forward makes CJ McCollum increasingly the favorite to leave the franchise. Situation from which the New Orleans Pelicans intend to take advantage.

First Jake Fischer and now Eric Pincus assure in Bleacher Report that the southerners are the team that most often sounds like the shooting guard’s destination. The Pelicans have a $17.1 million exception for the departure of Steven Adams and have plenty of cap space to take on McCollum’s contract. Of course, they should make up a package that includes at least Jonas Valanciunas, Josh Hart or Devonte ‘Graham along with the Satoransky-Hayes duo. CJ has this and two more years remaining at a rate of about $33 million per season.

The idea of the franchise is to form a roster for 2022-23 that convinces Zion Williamson that this is his home. Despite the names mentioned, the most interesting thing they have to offer the Blazers are draft rounds, but they already traded the first of 2022 in exchange for Graham last summer.
