Stephan Jäger fails in San Diego despite a strong start at the cut

After a brilliant start, professional golfer Stephan Jäger failed on the cut at the US Tour tournament in San Diego.

The Munich player gambled away his good starting position at the $8.4 million event with a round of 77 on the second day. Jäger finished the first round in a strong third place with 65 strokes.

At the top of the field after two rounds with 131 strokes are world number one Jon Rahm (Spain) and the two Americans Justin Thomas and Adam Schenk.
