St. Pauli extended with successful coach Schultz

Bundesliga aspirant FC St. Pauli has prematurely extended the contract of coach Timo Schultz (44). The leaders of the 2nd division did not provide any information on Thursday about the term.

The old contract would have expired after the season. “It’s no secret that I feel good at FC St. Pauli,” said Schultz: “I got a great chance here 1.5 years ago and now I’m ready to take the next step in development together with to go to the club.”

After being promoted to head coach, Schultz, who has held various positions at the Kiezkicker for more than 16 years, still managed the club, which was at risk of relegation at the time, in tenth place. After 18 games, St. Pauli is now six points ahead of city rivals Hamburger SV in the relegation rank. The Hanseatic League start the new year on Saturday against Erzgebirge Aue (1:30 p.m. / Sky).

“The club and I have common goals, and we will now continue on the path together to successfully develop the FC St. Pauli project,” said Schultz.
