Ski jumping live: Titisee-Neustadt HS 142 singles in the live ticker | 01/23/2022 16:00

Klemens Muranka (POL)

Klemens Muranka is doing it a little better now. The Pole comes to 118.5 meters and is only just behind the leader.

Kevin Maltsev (EST)

Kevin Maltsev from Estonia has almost no wind during his jump. He lacks support and only manages 109 meters.

Joacim Ødegård Bjøreng (NOR)

Joacim Ødegård Bjøreng is gaining World Cup experience this weekend. He doesn’t get a good jump and can only get 114 meters up the hill. He will probably not be able to tear much today with that.

Eetu Nousiainen (FIN)

Eetu Nousiainen is now a little shorter and can claim 116 meters with a light tailwind. At the moment, however, this is only enough for the last place.

Maciej Kot (POL)

Maciej Kot almost makes a precision landing and comes to 117.5 meters. With better posture grades, he pushes himself narrowly in front of David Siegel.

David Siegel (GER)

David Siegel opens today’s individual competition. He is let out of the start hatch eight by the Ballken and sets the first jump at 118 meters in the snow.

Germany with ten jumpers at the start

The DSV team is back today with its first and second row at the start. In addition to the seeded players, David Siegel, Philipp Raimund, Richard Freitag and Justin Lisso again qualified for the first round. Justin Lisso showed a great competition yesterday and scored important World Cup points in eleventh place. Karl Geiger shone in yesterday’s competition and regained the yellow jersey. He would like to keep it after today and take it with him to Willingen.

Only Ammann and Deschwanden in the first round

The Swiss team will have to do without Killian Peier this weekend. The best pilot in the team does without the World Cup in Titisee-Neustadt to allow himself a rest before the Olympic Games. So the Swiss have no chance at all this weekend. Simon Ammann and Gregor Deschwanden start in the first round. Dominik Peter missed the jump over the qualification.

ÖSV team has to improve

Yesterday’s competition was ill-fated for the Austrian ski jumpers. Only Jan Hörl was able to convince in tenth place. Today Clemens Aigner, Daniel Tschofenig, Philipp Aschenwald, Manuel Fettner, Daniel Huber, Stefan Kraft and Jan Hörl want to regain some self-confidence.

More corona failures

For the Norwegians, three athletes, Daniel-Andre Tande, Fredrik Villumstad and Johann Andre Forfang, have to sit out after positive tests. The Olympic hopeful Marius Lindvik is also still wobbling. He had to go into quarantine as a contact person for Tande. For the Poles, Dawid Kubacki and Piotr Zyla tested positive and are out.

Coronavirus and Olympic nominations

As already reported yesterday, the corona virus has the ski jumping circus firmly under control shortly before the Olympics. Andreas Wellinger, who actually wanted to return after a short break from competition this weekend and fight for one of the open places for Beijing, got it in the German team. But his Olympic dream in 2022 has now come to an end. Stefan Horngacher awarded the remaining places and nominated Constantin Schmid and Pius Paschke this morning. Karl Geiger, Markus Eisenbichler and Stephan Leyhe were already certain.

Warm welcome!

Hello and welcome to the last men’s individual competition this weekend in Titisee-Neustadt. The first round starts at 4 p.m
