Italian European soccer champion Federico Chiesa underwent surgery on his left knee in Innsbruck on Sunday after tearing his cruciate ligament.
According to the current status, the striker will be out for seven months, as announced by his club Juventus Turin.
Chiesa (24) picked up the injury earlier this month in a game at AS Roma (4-3).
Since the World Cup in Qatar doesn’t start until November 21, Chiesa could still make it in time. However, Italy has yet to make the playoffs.
