Second prominent corona case in Wimbledon: Last year’s finalist Matteo Berrettini announced the positive test via Instagram on Tuesday before his opening match. After the Croatian Marin Cilic, the tennis tournament is over for the Italian before it even started.
His heart was broken, wrote Berrettini, who was considered one of the favorites in the All England Club after the titles in Stuttgart and London’s Queen’s Club.
“I’ve had flu symptoms and I’ve been isolated for the past few days,” he said. “The dream is over for this year, but I’ll come back stronger.”
