After retiring from motorcycling, Italian superstar Valentino Rossi is competing this year with the Belgian WRT team in the GT World Challenge Europe. The racing team and the series announced this on Thursday.
In the GT3 competition with sprint and endurance races, one of the highlights of the season is the 24-hour race in Spa, Belgium.
“Everyone knows that I’ve always been a big fan of car racing and that after the end of my MotoGP career I’ve always been interested in four-wheel racing,” said Rossi (42), who already had an Audi in Valencia in early December R8 LMS tested for WRT.
He is now “fully available to dedicate myself to a high-level racing program with the right professional approach,” said Rossi. The nine-time motorcycle world champion will compete in two home races in Imola (April 1st to 3rd) and Misano (July 1st to 3rd).
