RB Leipzig takes the lead in the Virtual Bundesliga Club Championship

RB Leipzig has taken the lead in the south-east division in the FIFA Virtual Bundesliga Club Championship.

The Red Bulls beat Ingolstadt 04 in a direct duel (2-0; 1-1, 0-0).

The tension in Leipzig was visibly great: in the last of the three games, the co-op game, Umut “Umut” Gültekin and Richard “Gaucho” Hormes were glued close to the screen.

With a chain of five, RB defended against the Ingolstadt team, who were desperately trying to take the lead in the game and thus climb back to the top of the table. In vain – the Leipzig high fives relieved.

Happy victory for RB Leipzig

In the end, two draws and a win by the reigning individual champion Umut against Timo “TimoX” Siep in the first match (2-0) were enough to overtake the Ingolstadt team.

The Leipzig victory was happy, as Umut said in an interview after the match about his individual game: “I could have been 0-2 behind and then somehow make it 1-0, that was also relatively happy.”

After the player from Leipzig scored a second goal, the experienced tournament player took time off the clock by repeatedly changing sides. “I then wrote to TimoX, in his place I would have offended myself from A to Z,” said Umut.

In the north-west division, Hannover 96 continue to dominate with 81 points and Werder Bremen with 76 points. FC St. Pauli celebrated in the derby against Hamburger SV (0:1; 2:0; 3:2).
