Bundesliga club RB Leipzig can fall back on defender Mohamed Simakan and offensive player Dominik Szoboszlai in the home game on Sunday (3:30 p.m. / DAZN) against VfL Wolfsburg.
This was announced by coach Domenico Tedesco on Friday. Szoboszlai missed Wednesday’s DFB Cup round of 16 against Hansa Rostock (2-0) with a strain, while Simakan sustained a bruise in that game.
However, Tedesco did not see the fact that Wolfsburg had not won in eight league games as an advantage for Leipzig.
“We’re trying to be neutral and not overestimate it, because you can’t underestimate the squad. They’re top players in every position,” said the 36-year-old. In the table, VfL is just ahead of relegation rank 16 with 21 points, while Leipzig is fighting for a place in the Champions League with 28 points.
