RB Leipzig is allowed to play in front of 1000 spectators

Soccer runners-up RB Leipzig can once again rely on the support of their fans.

The Corona regulation in Saxony, which will apply from Friday, enables the people of Leipzig to return up to 1000 spectators per game at short notice. The regulation based on the 2G-Plus principle, which initially applies until February 6, affects the home games against Hansa Rostock in the DFB Cup on January 19 and the Bundesliga game against VfL Wolfsburg four days later.

“We are disappointed that we can only allow 1,000 spectators for each of the two upcoming home games,” said Ulrich Wolter, Director Club Competitions and Relations: “Our hygiene concept is resilient, it can accommodate a larger number of spectators at an open-air event and 2G-Plus conditions without any problems.”
