Quartet promoted at BVB

The foundation of the Bundesliga soccer club Borussia Dortmund ensures a good atmosphere at the Revierklub this season. BVB’s U19s are unbeaten leaders in the Bundesliga West, while the U23s were able to establish themselves in the top half of the table after being promoted to the 3rd division. Now a quartet is moving into second representation in order to be able to take the next step in development.

U23 coach Enrico Maaßen is growing from the U19s: striker Bradley Fink and midfielders Göktan Gürpüz, Dennis Lütke-Frie and Abdoulaye Kamara are promoted according to the “kicker”. From now on, the quartet should train regularly with the third division club and work out the chances to be part of the matchday squad.

While Frenchman Kamara, who only switched from PSG to BVB in the summer, has already made seven brief appearances in Enrico Maaßen’s team, the jump is completely new for Fink, Lütke-Frie and Gürpüz.

The 18-year-old Gürpüz had recently signed a long-term professional contract and was part of head coach Marco Rose’s matchday squad four times.

Other BVB talents can hope for the chance

According to “Bild”, a long-term contract will soon be waiting for attacker Bradley Fink. The Swiss has been convincing with the black and yellow since moving from Lucerne in the summer of 2019, this season alone he has 21 goals.

The promotion to the second team does not mean that the quartet will be without U19 coach Mike Tullberg in the future. Rather, there should be a fluent exchange, in which other talents should have the opportunity to play in professional football. According to the “kicker”, it is therefore quite possible that other Tullberg protégés will soon move up.

In addition to the good performances in the U19 Bundesliga West, his selection has also been convincing in the Youth League so far this season. There, after surviving the group phase, BVB has the chance to reach the round of 16 in the playoffs at the beginning of February.
