Premier League | Relegation-threatened Everton upgrades powerfully

Shortly before the end of the winter transfer deadline in England, Everton FC made another top-class reinforcement.

Manager Frank Lampard’s new club, currently just 16th in the Premier League table, secured the services of 37-time England international Dele Alli and Dutchman Donny van de Beek.

Alli, 25, comes after six and a half years from league rivals Tottenham Hotspur, where he lost his regular place, and has signed a two and a half year contract at Goodison Park until June 2024, Everton announced.

Van de Beek, who has been playing for Manchester United since the summer of 2020 and has hardly had a chance either under coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer or under current coach Ralf Rangnick, will initially join the Toffees on loan until the end of the season.
