US golfer JT Poston celebrated his second tournament victory on the PGA Tour at the John Deere Classic in Silvis/Illinois. The 29-year-old beat Argentina’s Emiliano Grillo and South Africa’s Christiaan Bezuidenhout (both 266) with 263 shots.
The trio thus qualified for the British Open, which begins on July 14th. “I can’t wait,” Poston said of his premiere there. Munich’s Stephan Jäger finished 30th with 274 strokes.
Poston took the lead in the first lap and was the first professional in 30 years to hold this lead in Silvis to the end. He had his only win on the PGA Tour so far in 2019 at the Wyndham Championship.
