Phil Taylor is ‘desperate to win the title’

Record world champion Phil Taylor does not see his upcoming appearance at the Senior World Championships as a return to competitive darts.

“I’m really looking forward to the senior title fights. I really want to win this title, but it’s not a comeback, it’s a bit of fun,” said the 61-year-old Englishman, nicknamed “The Power” of the “German Press Agency .” The tournament at the Circus Tavern in Purfleet will be played from February 3rd to 6th.

Taylor, who resigned after his final defeat at the 2018 World Cup, recently compared himself to “a retired car mechanic” and pointed out that he no longer watches all professional games on TV. In the past few days, the 16-time world champion has been promoting the senior event, which is being held for the first time. “I’ll be ready,” announced top favorite Taylor.
