Otto Porter Jr. signs with the Raptors

The Toronto Raptors have closed a two-year deal with Otto Porter Jr. According to the journalist from yahoo sports, Chris Haynes, the second year of the contract is subject to a player option. At the moment the economic amount of the operation has not transpired but everything indicates that it amounts to 10.2 million dollars per year collected by the mid-level exception.

Thus, the forward lands on Canadian soil after proclaiming himself NBA champion with the Golden State Warriors. Porter Jr. emerged as an important part of Steve Kerr’s rotation en route to the title. The 29-year-old from San Luis closed his playoffs with numbers of 5.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 19 games, three of them as a starter.

Porter Jr., selected third in the 2013 draft, has earned a reputation as ‘3-and-D’ of great importance after seeing how injuries ruined his promising career. Thus, his qualities and virtues seem to fit into the current Raptors system, full of forwards capable of playing and defending different positions.
