Offer to Niklas Süle lower than assumed?

Niklas Süle will leave FC Bayern after five years. In the past few weeks, the defender has not been able to agree on an extension of his expiring contract with the Munich team. It is said that the salary offered played a decisive role.

With Niklas Süle, FC Bayern loses a regular player for free in the summer. The record champion would have wished for an extension of the cooperation. But ultimately, according to media reports, a contract extension failed due to the different financial ideas.

As “Bild” football boss Christian Falk reports, FC Bayern has offered the central defender a basic salary of less than ten million euros.

Most recently, higher numbers have been circulating in the reporting, most recently the Munich “tz” wanted to know about a bid of ten million euros.

Süle himself is said to have been disappointed with the offer. In addition, there had allegedly been no written offer from the club. Rather, Süle was “called out” to his possible income.

Kahn: “Certain limits” at Bayern

The fact that FC Bayern and Süle could not agree on salary was confirmed by CEO Oliver Kahn on the sidelines of the Bundesliga game between the leaders and RB Leipzig (3: 2).

“Of course, it’s always about the money. We have very specific limits, very specific limits that we don’t want to go beyond. We not only have responsibility for the sporting area, but also for the economic one,” said the 52-year-old at Sky.

Within the team, Süle’s imminent farewell is causing disappointment. “Of course it’s a shame that such a cornerstone in the defense breaks away,” said Captain Manuel Neuer on “Sky” and added: “It annoys us all that Niklas is going, we will miss him. It was a way until he did has developed to its peak performance.”
