On Wednesday, Borussia Dortmund publicly announced the transfer of Sébastien Haller, which had been in place for some time. With the signing of the striker from Ajax Amsterdam, there are likely to be some changes in the BVB squad. Especially on the offensive, a trio has to worry about staying with the runners-up.
With Sébastien Haller, the king’s transfer to Borussia Dortmund has been completed and a replacement has been found for Erling Haaland, who has migrated. But because Karim Adeyemi was signed for the offensive in addition to the former Frankfurter and at the same time talents like Jamie Bynoe-Gittens are pushing for playing time, BVB’s attack is getting tight. That could potentially have an impact on a trio in this transfer window.
As “Sky” speculates, Thorgan Hazard, Julian Brandt and Donyell Malen should not be sure of their whereabouts in Dortmund. The former has been traded as a candidate for sale for a long time.
The Belgian, who switched from Borussia Mönchengladbach to the Revierklub three years ago, was never able to make a lasting impression at BVB. In the past season he was rarely convincing under Marco Rose, the ex-coach even deliberately deleted him from the squad in mid-February due to poor performance.
BVB: England interest in Hazard
Hazard’s contract with the black and yellow is still dated until 2024. A sale this summer still seems possible. According to “Sky” Newcastle United are interested. But nothing concrete so far.
In addition to Hazard, Julian Brandt is also traded by the TV station as a candidate for departure. The 26-year-old fought his way back into the team under Rose, but the new/old coach Edin Terzic is not necessarily a fan of the attacking midfielder. It is therefore possible that the 38-time German international will be tight on the offensive due to the oversupply. Brandt is also tied until 2024.
According to “Sky”, Donyell Malen is also a candidate for a change this summer, even if he still has the longest term within the trio. The Dutchman only came to BVB last year and signed until 2026. Nevertheless, the 23-year-old, whose breakthrough in the Bundesliga has yet to materialise, may find himself on the bench and therefore want to reorient himself.
According to “Sky” information, it cannot be ruled out that one of the three mentioned will leave BVB during this transfer period.
