Lamparter leads ÖSV team
The day before, the team from the Austrian Ski Association made a much better impression than the German team. In addition to the podium finish of the leader in the overall World Cup, Johannes Lamparter, the other athletes from the Alpine republic, Philipp Orter, Mario Seidl and Franz-Josef Rehrl, ended up in the top ten. All of them are currently benefiting above all from a strong jumping form. Furthermore, the red-white-red squad is completed today by Lukas Greiderer, Thomas Jöbstl, Martin Fritz.

DSV wants to fight back
For the German combined athletes, the first individual competition at Holmenkollen was pretty mixed. As the best DSV starter, Johannes Rydzek took eighth place, Eric Frenzel finished tenth. Individual Olympic champion Vinzenz Geiger was only in 29th position after a completely botched jump at halftime and did not get past 18th place in the following 10-kilometer run. Manuel Faißt ran out of strength with a brave running performance in the front field, which is why he was passed far. Fabian Rießle, Julian Schmid and Terence Weber also experienced a rather used day.

Riiber pursues Lamparter
Although Jarl Magnus Riiber has dominated the season almost at will, Johannes Lamparter is currently ahead in the overall World Cup. Yesterday, however, the local hero asserted himself in the first competition and thus reduced the gap to the Austrian to 87 points. Lamparter himself finished second and now has to defend the cushion. The podium was completed the day before by Jens Lurås Oftebro, also from Norway. Riiber has also already celebrated 45 victories in the World Cup and is only three successes behind Hannu Manninen’s record. With four World Cups to go, the mark could soon fall.
