Neymar offered Antony of Manchester United his backing after this week’s controversial skill display.
In the first half of the match against FC Sheriff at Old Trafford on Thursday night, Antony made his now-famous “Anturny” turn before the striker lost possession of the ball with no goals in the game.
Paul Scholes and Robbie Savage criticized Antony for being a showboat on BT Sport, but Antony fought back on Friday, promising to keep doing “what got him to where he is.”
Neymar posted Antony doing the “Antony spin” on his IG with caption “keep it up, nothing changes…”

Neymar, Antony’s teammate from Brazil, has now commented on the situation and offered his fellow countryman support. On Instagram, Neymar wrote: “Keep it up, nothing changes! Attempt it, boy. Joy and Courage
At halftime, Antony was replaced by Sheriff, but Erik ten Hag refuted claims that his showboating was the cause of the replacement.
As long as a trick serves a purpose, I don’t mind using it, Ten Hag stated. “I expect more from him, including more runs behind, frequent box placements, and pocket play. When a trick like that exists, it’s good as long as it works. It’s fine if you’re not dropping the ball, but if you are, I will correct him if the trick is the reason of the mistake.
