National ice hockey player Moritz Seider continued to earn plus points for the award for best NHL rookie.
The 20-year-old scored the 3-2 lead after his Detroit Red Wings overtime against the Buffalo Sabers to make it 2-1 and thus has 22 assists this season. No rookie in the National Hockey League has that haul.
Seider’s teammate Lucas Raymond has 21 assists as an attacker. The Anaheim Ducks’ Raymond, Seider and Trevor Zegras are currently the favorites for the prestigious award. The Calder Trophy is typically awarded during the Stanley Cup Finals. Selected journalists are allowed to vote.
