Max Kruse makes a fool of himself in “Beat the Star”

Despite surprising knowledge gaps in football, former national player Max Kruse won the TV show “Schlag den Star”. The Union Berlin professional beat moderator Steven Gätjen, but showed weaknesses.

The second game of the evening (“Tore”) was about scoring important goals in World Cup and European Championship tournaments. Kruse did not know who scored the winning goal at the home World Cup in 1974 (Gerd Müller).

“I have no idea, I don’t remember anything before my time,” said Kruse, who was born in 1988.

When naming the double goal scorer in the 1996 European Championship final (Oliver Bierhoff), the offensive player was too slow and only gave his first name.

Kruse lost the game 5:7 against Gätjen, who had stepped in at short notice for the actor Frederick Lau, who was infected with Corona. He won 100,000 euros.
