Major winner Sophia Popov spoke out in favor of parallel golf tournaments for men and women being held at the same location.

“It would help women’s golf a lot and I think it would be relatively easy to implement. And it would be cool if we could do that in the future,” said the 29-year-old in the “Sky” interview.

So far, at best, a men’s and a women’s tournament have been played one after the other on the same facility. However, the 2020 British Open winner would like to see more tournaments at venues with two golf courses.

Popov (St. Leon Rot) is currently serving at the LPGA tournament in Orlando. At the $1.5 million event in Florida, she takes a tied 19th place after the first round.
