After the one-week Bundesliga break, FC Bayern meets RB Leipzig on Saturday evening. The Munich team started preparing for the game on Tuesday, but without their captain Manuel Neuer.
Again “table footballreported that the goalkeeper was absent from team training by trainer Julian Nagelsmann. However, Neuer is not injured. Instead, the 35-year-old worked individually in the athletics center.
Instead of Neuer, there were three other goalkeepers on Säbener Straße: Sven Ulreich, Christian Früchtl and Johannes Schenk. According to the specialist magazine, the latter collided with central defender Dayot Upamecano. After a short break, Schenk and Upamecano were able to continue training normally.
With Gabriel Vidovic and Paul Wanner, two other talents were involved in the unit. Wanner only signed a long-term professional contract with FC Bayern on Monday. In the future, the 16-year-old midfielder will train with the pros.
FC Bayern want to put BVB under pressure
Wanner could be part of the squad for the upcoming home game against RB Leipzig (Saturday, 6:30 p.m.), although coach Nagelsmann can now fall back on most of his protégés.
With a win against the Saxons, FC Bayern would temporarily extend the lead over Borussia Dortmund to nine points and put BVB under a lot of pressure. The black and yellow are only challenged on Sunday (3:30 p.m.) in their own stadium against Bayer Leverkusen.
After the Bundesliga paused last weekend, the second half of the season is slowly picking up speed. FC Bayern will continue in the Champions League on February 16, when the Munich team will make a guest appearance at RB Salzburg.
