More than half of Germans do not intend to watch matches of the European Women’s Soccer Championship in England on television. This is the result of a representative survey by the opinion research institute YouGov on behalf of the “German Press Agency”.
Accordingly, 58 percent of those surveyed do not tune in when the EM tournament is running from July 6th to 31st with record European champions Germany.
27 percent stated that they watched some games. Eight percent want to follow all DFB women’s games or don’t know it yet. The team of national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg meets Denmark on July 8 (21:00 CEST/ZDF) in London. On July 12th it’s against title candidate Spain, on July 16th against Finland.
ARD and ZDF broadcast all 31 games on television or in live streams in their media libraries. The Internet sports channel DAZN also shows the games.
According to the “YouGov” survey, interest in the European Championship is greater among men than among women: 67 percent of the female respondents do not want to watch the tournament on television. It is 48 percent for men. Among those who want to follow all German encounters in front of the screen, it is eleven percent for men and only four for women.
