With a great overtaking maneuver on the penultimate lap, Isack Hadjar (Hitech) secured victory in the Formula 3 sprint race at Silverstone.
Shortly before the end, the Frenchman overtook his compatriot Victor Martins from Team ART, who had to settle for second place in the end. In third place, the Japanese Reece Ushijima (Van Amersfoort) finished on the podium for the first time.
In the overall standings, Arthur Leclerc (Prema) continued to lose ground, the younger brother of Formula 1 star Charles Leclerc only finished eighth.
Martins, sponsored in Alpine’s junior academy, is now leading the fight for the title with a seven-point lead over Roman Stanek (Trident), while Hadjar moved up to third with his second win of the season. A German driver did not start in the “Home of British Motor Racing”.
The Formula 3 main race also takes place in Silverstone on Sunday (09:35 a.m.), after which it continues next week in Spielberg.
