Ever since Erling Haaland had to leave the pitch early in Borussia Dortmund’s win over TSG 1899 Hoffenheim (3-2), one question surrounding BVB has prevailed: is the Norwegian injured and if so, how long will he be out? A media report now wants to shed some light on the matter.

“Haaland was examined in detail on Sunday and Monday. According to the medical bulletin, Haaland is suffering from muscular problems, which, however, require treatment and further examinations in the coming days,” said BVB on Monday. No accurate diagnosis, no downtime. The “image“But now I want to know more about it.

According to the newspaper, Haaland tore a muscle fiber in the adductor area on the last match day of the Bundesliga. In order to find out the severity of the injury and the exact downtime, however, further investigations must be carried out.

Therefore, BVB should also have a “mini-hope” that Haaland will be back in the next home game against Bayer Leverkusen on February 6th.

Will BVB be active again in winter?

There is no question that a failure would reduce Borussia’s chances: with 23 goals and six assists in 20 competitive games, Haaland is by far the most dangerous player in the black and yellow.

According to “Bild”, regardless of the result of further investigations, it is impossible for Dortmund to be active again in the transfer market in winter. On the one hand, one hopes for a quick recovery of the superstar. On the other hand, due to the Corona crisis, the finances currently simply do not offer any room for manoeuvre.

If the worst comes to the worst, coach Marco Rose has to make do with the existing staff. With youngster Youssoufa Moukoko, Steffen Tigges and Donyell Malen there are still three players in the squad who feel comfortable in the center of the attack. Captain Marco Reus and Thorgan Hazard could also help out.
