Philadelphia has made several moves in the current market to best surround James Harden (yet to be renewed) and Joel Embiid. Among the newcomers is De’Anthony Melton, who has landed via trade from Memphis. The guardafter being an important piece in the Grizzlies, assures that he is clear about what they expect of him in Pennsylvania.
“Once I saw the team I was going to I said, ‘Okay, I’m coming to a great place.’ This is a very good fit for me. I understand what this team needs. I understand what this team is trying to do. I am ready for the task that is entrusted to me and for whatever comes ahead », she expresses in statements to Gina Mizell of The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The reality that Melton comes to the 76ers after being an important part of the Memphis rotation; so much so that in the last season he played 22.7 minutes per night to average 10.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists, numbers to which he added a 37.4% success rate in triples.
Whether one or the other his work in Philadelphia, what is clear is that the young player of 24 years comes to a team whose only objective is the ring. His stars demand it and the management, closing signings like PJ Tucker, also points it out in red. Will it be the year of the Sixers?
