HSV professional threatens to return to VfL Bochum?

Jan Gyamerah wore the jersey of VfL Bochum for almost eight years before the defender joined Hamburger SV in the summer of 2019. Now the HSV professional could be returning to his old place of work.

VfL Bochum is apparently thinking about signing Jan Gyamerah. According to information from the online portal “”, the Bundesliga promoted team wants to make a return to the Ruhr area tempting for the 26-year-old.

Specifically, it’s about a possible change in the summer when Gyamerah’s contract with HSV expires. According to the report, Bochum then wants to strike free of charge.

Gyamerah went through the youth teams of VfL from 2011, made the leap into the professional squad in 2013 and played a total of 76 competitive games for the “small” Revier neighbors BVB and FC Schalke 04.

How does HSV plan with Jan Gyamerah?

Gyamerah has had a changeable time at HSV since leaving Bochum. However, he is currently a regular player – in an unfamiliar position. Because of Tim Leibold’s injury, coach Tim Walter finally ordered the trained right-back to the left.

It is unclear how HSV plans with Gyamerah in the future. According to “” the Hanseatic League definitely want to extend the contract with the ex-Bochumer. Due to the uncertain sporting prospects in fifth place in the Bundesliga 2, a decision has not yet been made on the player side.

The “kicker” contradicts this reading. Due to his less than outstanding performance at HSV, Gyamerah probably has no future beyond the summer.

The association does not currently intend to expand the cooperation, writes the specialist magazine in its Monday edition.

That, in turn, would play into the hands of VfL Bochum when it allegedly wooed the homegrown team.
