Anthony Modeste was given a Headliner card in FIFA 22. Strangely enough, the overall rating hasn’t changed despite many improved attributes.
The individual ratings such as Tempo or Physis are quite impressive in the headliner version by Anthony Modeste. The professional from 1. FC Köln is in the 80s in four out of six categories.
However, the overall rating remains at 72 points, just like the original Silver card. The Frenchman has received an improvement of at least eight points per category, and in terms of speed it is even 18 points more.
Individual ratings speak for an 80 card
Typically, a player is measured against the individual ratings relevant to their position. Accordingly, the shot and the pace are relevant for strikers like Modeste, as well as their physique and dribbling.
The defensive qualities are negligible for this. If the overall score was the average of the relevant individual scores, Modeste would be a potential 80 card.
Modeste is not an isolated case
In addition to Modeste, the difference between the overall score and individual scores can also be seen in other players. For example, the headliner version by Joshua Kimmich has a 91 overall rating, although not a single value comes close to this total.
So how can it be, for example, that the headliner Modeste only has an overall rating of 72 points despite several 80s? The answer lies in a limitation that EA Sports has imposed on itself.
Modeste is a Silver player because he is classified as a Silver Star in this category. And said card category must not exceed a certain total value.
How meaningful is the overall rating anyway?
In this regard, the question naturally arises to what extent the total value of a FUT card in FIFA 22 is meaningful at all.
Regardless of the low ratings, Anthony Modeste is a playable Silver Star card that could even improve due to the Headlining trait. The 1. FC Köln striker can be unlocked for free via objective until Wednesday.
