Germany’s football fans see Kay Bernstein’s election as President of the Bundesliga club Hertha BSC as overwhelmingly positive.
According to a FanQ survey commissioned by “SID” among over 900 fans, 54.9 percent of those surveyed perceive the choice of the former Hertha Ultra as “positive to very positive”. Meanwhile, 20.6 percent rated this as “very negative”.
Furthermore, 63.7 percent of those surveyed saw the possibility for fans to take on a responsible role in their clubs positively. However, 51.4 percent believe that Bernstein can give Hertha a new boost.
Bernstein was elected last Sunday at the Extraordinary General Meeting to succeed President Werner Gegenbauer, who resigned in May. He had prevailed with 54.9 percent of the valid votes against the CDU politician Frank Steffel and the outsider Marvin Brumme.
