German volleyball players end a winless series

After six defeats in a row, the German volleyball players managed to win again in the Nations League.

The Germans beat Australia 3:1 (20:25, 25:16, 25:21, 26:24). The team has now won four games and lost seven. The team of the new national coach Michal Winiarski still only has a theoretical chance of making it into the final round.

The best attacker in the German team was Moritz Reichert in Osaka, Japan, with 24 points. The squad comes in with a young squad and without star player Georg Grozer, who is focusing on recovery this summer.

In the Nations League, the top 16 teams in the world for men and women play against each other at three venues over six weeks. After twelve games per team, the eight best advance to the final round, which begins for men on July 20 in Bologna, Italy. The games in the Nations League are important for the world rankings.
