Due to an infection with the Omikron variant in two players from FSV Zwickau, the game scheduled for Saturday (2:00 p.m.) in the 3rd division against Viktoria Cologne has been cancelled.
This was announced by the Saxons and the German Football Association (DFB) on Thursday. Zwickau has fewer than 16 eligible players available, which is below the anchored minimum limit.
A total of eight players have tested positive for the corona virus, due to the two omicron cases, according to the FSV, “other team members” have to be quarantined by order of the Zwickau health department.
For people who have tested negative, the quarantine ends on Monday, according to the Zwickauer statement. When the game will be rescheduled is still open.
