Frodeno wants “two or three big races”

Despite his recent task at the triathlon classic in Roth, Olympic champion and Hawaii winner Jan Frodeno is still not thinking of retiring.

The 40-year-old told the broadcaster “Sport1” that he was not ready to rest on his laurels and look back. “Legend means that you were damn good back then. I’m not ready to be a legend yet,” explained Frodeno.

His career will end with a bang, he announced in the triathlon magazine “Sport1”, which will be broadcast this Friday (7.45 p.m.). “That there are still one, two, three big races is my last wish for my body,” emphasized Frodeno.

At the Ironman in Roth, Frodeno, who had been injured for months, dropped out two and a half weeks ago as the leader in the final marathon. The reason for this was too much pain in the Achilles tendon. The Olympic champion and three-time world champion now wants to concentrate on the World Championships in Hawaii in October.
