Freestyle snowboarder Annika Morgan has clinched a World Cup podium for the second time in her career.
The 19-year-old athlete from SC Mittenwald finished third at the slopestyle event in Laax. The young German hope had already jumped onto the podium at the Big Air Contest in Steamboat in December.
“I can’t believe it. I was crying,” Morgan said at the place where she started snowboarding. “Laax has a place in my heart”. Victory went to Australia’s Tess Coady.
In slopestyle, the athletes go through a course that consists of several jumps and slide elements. The freestylers can combine several tricks in one run. Height, difficulty and style play the most important role.
