Formula 1 introduces compulsory vaccination for all employees

A corona vaccination for all employees in the Formula 1 paddock will be mandatory from this season.

The Formula 1 rights holder “will require that all employees traveling with them are fully vaccinated,” confirmed a spokesman for the German Press Agency in a corresponding report by the “Times” and the “BBC”. There should be no exceptions to this. The future rule will affect drivers, team members and journalists, among others.

At the end of last year, there was a corresponding initiative at the World Council meeting of the World Automobile Association Fia. It was decided “as a precautionary measure” that “all Formula 1 employees must be vaccinated in order to be in the paddock,” quoted the specialist magazine “Autosport” as Formula 1 Managing Director Stefano Domenicali.

The motorsport premier class was able to hold 22 Grand Prix last year, but due to the corona pandemic – as in 2020 – races had to be postponed or canceled.

From March 10th to 12th, the official tests are scheduled for the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir. The Formula 1 record-breaking 23-race season will also open with the Bahrain Grand Prix on March 20th.
