Flash farewell to Ginter and Zakaria possible

Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach would sell their summer departures Matthias Ginter and Denis Zakaria in the winter if there were suitable offers.

“If something comes up that we have to deal with financially, I can’t rule out that both – or one – will leave the club in winter,” said sports director Max Eberl on Thursday before the league home game against Bayer Leverkusen (Saturday, 6:30 p.m /Sky).

Inter Milan are showing great interest in German national player Ginter, and according to media reports, offers for Swiss national player Zakaria are said to come from England. There is “nothing on my desk,” said Eberl. “There are now speculations that are not our topic.”

Borussia has already signed a replacement for Ginter: Marvin Friedrich comes from Union Berlin. “We have taken a player for the future who has developed very, very well in recent years. We are happy that he is here,” said coach Adi Hütter.

Goalkeeper Yann Sommer (after a pelvic problem) and 2014 world champion Christoph Kramer (after an infection) will probably be available against Bayer.
