Aston Martin, Sebastian Vettel’s Formula 1 team, is looking to take a step forward with an upgrade at the Silverstone Grand Prix.
But: unlike the general overhaul in Barcelona, this time there are “many small details that make a difference in the summer” and are supposed to make Sebastian Vettel’s AMR22 faster, as team boss Mike Krack revealed to RTL.
“It starts with the front wing, the brake shafts, and of course the underbody too. You don’t see a lot of it at all, sometimes there’s a deflector there, there a flip, no big visual things, it’s a lot of fine work. It’s closed as a complete package see, but it’s a lot of small detail work.”
Like other teams, you have arrived at “fine tuning”. All in all, Aston Martin has been concentrating on the areas of aerodynamics, drivability and weight reduction all year.
Krack didn’t want to reveal how much the green racer had lost weight since the start of the season – at least not in kilograms. But it was “a whole lot”.
