When FC Schalke 04 was finally able to remove high earner Amine Harit from the payroll in late summer, there was great joy. In some places there was even hope that the offensive man could even join his new club Olympique Marseille permanently after a one-year loan. But nothing will come of it.
When Amine Harit signed on at Olympique Marseille at the end of August, Schalke and the Ligue 1 club agreed not to disclose the details, but sporting director Rouven Schröder said in a statement at the time that Harit’s departure would bring enormous financial benefits for the Royal Blues.
“The decision to loan Amine Harit to Marseille has several dimensions. On the one hand, we’ll save a lot of money with the loan this season,” said Schröder, who also expected the player to increase in value: “At the same time, we keep an eye on the development of his market value : We’ll keep the opportunity to offer Amine Harit – ideally after a season as a regular in a European club – next summer on a transfer market that will hopefully be less affected by Corona.”
There were hopes that Olympique would simply keep the Moroccan if things went well. According to information from the French “L’Equipe”, Harit will not simply stay in Marseille and sign a long-term contract there.
Because the club should probably be banned by FIFA for transfer irregularities related to Papa Gueye’s commitment for two transfer periods and also pay compensation to the damaged Watford FC.
Amine Harit has no future at FC Schalke 04
Although OM apparently wants to move in front of the CAS, with a view to Harit, the conditions for a transfer seem to be bad.
In any case, the Schalke loan has not really arrived at his new club. The 24-year-old has so far made 15 appearances, mostly shorter ones, with two goals and one assist. However, Harit is still a long way from a regular place.
However, Harit does not have a future in the Knappen jersey from the summer either, although his contract is still dated until July 2024. One thing is quite clear: those responsible for S04 will have to find a buyer other than OM.
Amine Harit came to Gelsenkirchen from FC Nantes in 2017, and in his first season he won the Bundesliga Rookie of the Year award. He made 102 appearances in the German Oberhaus and contributed a total of 13 goals and 23 assists in 119 competitive games. In the current second division season he was not used due to the upcoming change.
