FC Bayern: Wild rumors about Niklas Süle

Explosive speculation about the future of Niklas Süle: is the national player drawn from FC Bayern to Bundesliga competitor Borussia Dortmund? A reporter legend awakens hope among BVB fans.

In the next few days and weeks there will be a lot of speculation about Niklas Süle’s future after he will not extend his expiring contract with FC Bayern and announced that he will leave the German record champions in the summer.

It is unclear where Süle will go. So far, however, it was considered certain that the 26-year-old would turn his back on the Bundesliga and move abroad.

Commentator icon Marcel Reif brought a completely different, much more explosive option for Süle into the current discussion on “Bild TV”: a move to BVB.

Change to BVB? “I can well imagine”

The journalist said he had “rumours” about Süle’s future and added: “I don’t think it’s out of the question that he won’t go abroad at all.”

At first, Reif didn’t explicitly name BVB as a possible buyer, but then he let himself be elicited: “Dortmund could use a good central defender. I can well imagine that.”

According to Reif, however, it is unlikely that Süle will soon appear in black and yellow: “I think he’s a guy for England. He likes it there. He’s an English guy.”

BVB needs – but not enough money?

BVB would have a need in the defense center. Loan player Marin Pongracic returns to VfL Wolfsburg after the season, Dan-Axel Zagadou’s contract expires.

The working papers of Manuel Akanji and Mats Hummels, who will also be 34 years old by then, will also end in 2023.

Financially, however, a Süle deal should not be feasible for Borussia. FC Bayern allegedly offered the former Hoffenheimer an annual salary of ten million euros – Süle refused, saying he wants to earn significantly more in the future.
