FC Bayern in front of a transfer hammer: De Ligt agrees with the record champions

Juve star Matthijs de Ligt’s move from Juventus to FC Bayern is getting closer. Allegedly, the Dutch national player has already given his commitment to Munich.

As “Sport1” and “Sky” reported on Tuesday, Munich’s interest in defender Matthijs De Ligt is mutual. Accordingly, the Dutch national player wants to continue his career in the coming season at Bayern.

Even more: According to information from the broadcasters, the Juve star has even given the German record champions a verbal promise.

That’s exactly what the “transfer expert” Gianluca Di Marzio more or less denied on Monday evening. The Italian journalist wrote that De Ligt would like to continue his career in the Premier League.

According to “Sport1” this does not correspond to the facts. There it is said that the 22-year-old has had sympathy for FC Bayern for a long time and would have preferred to have switched to the Isar before his transfer to Juventus Turin in the summer of 2019.

At that time, however, the transfer fee demanded by Ajax Amsterdam became an insurmountable hurdle. In the end, Juve agreed to the deal and, according to reports, transferred a transfer fee of between 75 and 85 million euros to Amsterdam.

Bayern sports director Hasan Salihamidzic is said not to have been dissuaded from his goal by the lost transfer poker game three years ago. “Sport1” reports that the Bosnian has always kept in touch with Matthijs de Ligt.

FC Bayern wants to open negotiations soon

The talks between the Dutchman, FC Bayern and Juventus Turin are said not to be that intensive. It is said that Salihamdzic only wants to really get into the negotiations in the coming days.

It is still unclear how high the fee is that Munich would have to put on the table for the Dutchman this time. However, Juve will hardly agree to much less than the around 80 million euros paid at the time. Therefore, there is already speculation as to whether FC Bayern will involve another player as an object of exchange in the deal. This is where Benjamin Pavard’s name came into play.
