FC Bayern: Alphonso Davies thanks for “love and support”

Winger Alphonso Davies has been missing from FC Bayern for weeks. The left-back of the record champion is suffering from the consequences of a corona infection. Now the Canadian has spoken up.

The 21-year-old winger suffers from a corona infection with “slight heart muscle inflammation”, as coach Julian Nagelsmann confirmed before the Bundesliga away game at 1. FC Köln (4-0).

Summer newcomer Marcel Sabitzer acted for Alphonso Davies again on the left side of defence, the Austrian actually feels at home in central midfield.

FC Bayern was hit by another wave of corona during the short winter break, nine professionals returned with infections and had to go into isolation. Captain Manuel Neuer, Corentin Tolisso, Leroy Sané and Tanguy Nianzou were able to celebrate their comeback against Cologne and successfully keep the pursuers Borussia Dortmund at a distance.
