The Spanish football top club FC Barcelona has made its first two additions of the summer perfect.
As the club of national goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen announced on Monday, former Mönchengladbacher Andreas Christensen (FC Chelsea) and Franck Kessié (AC Milan) will each move to Catalonia on a free transfer after their contracts expire.
The Danish defender Christensen (26) and the Ivorian midfielder Kessié (25) have signed contracts until 2026, both contracts have a release clause of 500 million euros.
The Catalans, who are in debt with 1.35 billion euros, have recently opened up several sources of income.
Club boss Joan Laporta hopes to use the money to bring in several stars, including Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski, Leeds United striker Raphinha, Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva and Sevilla FC defender Jules Koundé.
