Ex-world champion Marc Márquez threatens a long break

Ex-motorcycle world champion Marc Márquez will have his right arm operated on for the fourth time next week. The 29-year-old announced this.

In the summer of 2020, Márquez broke his upper arm and was then out for the rest of the season.

After last year’s comeback, the Spaniard struggled with setbacks and has now made the decision to go under the knife again.

The aim of what is now the fourth operation is to improve mobility and stability in the arm and shoulder. The operation will take place in the United States.

Honda expects Márquez to miss a few races. Honda test driver Stefan Bradl has replaced him in the past and is likely to be used again this time.

The MotoGP season will continue in Barcelona next weekend.
