Former Bundesliga coach Lucien Favre does not want to retire just yet.
“At some point you sit at home and realize: I want to go back, I need the space, I have to kick a ball, smell the football, feel the adrenaline,” the 64-year-old told the Keystone-SDA news agency.
The Swiss assured that he had now come to terms with his expulsion from Borussia Dortmund in December 2020. “Two and a half years in Dortmund is a long time – my record is good,” emphasized Favre.
In the Bundesliga he had also coached Hertha BSC and Borussia Mönchengladbach before BVB. Now he wants to end his break and take on a coaching job again. “I still feel young and I’m healthy. Yes, I’m doing really well. The batteries are charged. I’ll stay in business for a few more years,” said Favre.
However, he only wants to take on a task of which he is “100 percent convinced”. In recent months he has been traded for coaching positions with the Swiss national team and London club Crystal Palace. So far, however, the time has not been right for a return, explained Favre.
