EWE Baskets Oldenburg have brought US playmaker DeWayne Russell back to the Basketball Bundesliga.
The 28-year-old point guard, who worked for Hakro Merlins Crailsheim from 2018 to 2020, comes from the Italian Serie A club Universo Treviso Basket. Russell has signed a contract with the former champions until 2024.
“DeWayne is a seasoned player who has asserted himself not only in our league but also in Italy and in the BCL,” said new Baskets coach Pedro Calles.
“I like his character: DeWayne is hungry for wins and ambitious. His way of playing suits us very well because we want to play with speed and aggressiveness.”
