Eintracht Frankfurt | Transfer hint from Krösche?

There was no shortage of rumors about Eintracht Frankfurt in the winter, but in the end the SBU kept its feet mostly still and only signed youngster Ansgar Knauff from Borussia Dortmund on loan. In the summer, on the other hand, a major upheaval is likely. Words from sports director Markus Krösche suggest that.

“We have always emphasized that we are satisfied with our squad. For this reason, it was not our goal to become very active during this transfer period,” Krösche said in an interview with “kicker”. With the loan from Knauff, however, Eintracht Frankfurt managed to “sign someone who makes us more flexible on the right side with their skills: with their high speed and their qualities in one-on-one,” the 41-year-old continued .

Krösche explicitly does not want to comment on the fact that attacker Randal Kolo Muani from FC Nantes and HSV high-flyer Faride Alidou were two players who were very stubbornly traded at Eintracht in winter, but the statements by the former sports director of RB Leipzig still give a deep insight.

“In general, however, our goal is to complete our squad early on. For the coach, it’s important not to find a patchwork at the beginning of preparation, but a squad that is as complete as possible. We have to act early to have these prerequisites,” Krösche said out.

Words that can certainly be read as a hint for the summer. Then Alidou and Muani will be free transfers, so in winter the Frankfurters were basically free to agree on a change with the two players.

Eintracht Frankfurt is “forced to become active earlier”

An approach that would fit perfectly into the transfer strategy that Frankfurt is pursuing, according to Krösche. “Due to the general economic conditions, we are forced to take action earlier. Our goal is that we do not come under pressure due to long-term squad planning in the respective transfer period.”

However, there is not yet complete clarity on the Main as far as possible departures are concerned. With Evan Ndicka, Filip Kostic and Daichi Kamada, three top performers are only under contract until the summer of 2023. Krösche explained that there would soon be an exchange. If you cannot agree, you will see “if there is another solution in the summer”.

Even with Filip Kostic, who is said to be willing to emigrate again and again, everything is “completely open”. The Serb’s contract also ends in the summer of 2023.
